Carlos was born on 23rd of September 1990 in Belo Horizonte (Brazil) en grew up from 1994 in The Netherlands.
From 2008 until 20212, Carlos studied Musicaltheatre at The Dutch Academy of Performing Arts. In this period, Carlos had the opportunity to play lead roles in musicals such as ‘Into the Woods’, ‘Kiss me Kate’ and the first Dutch version of the Boy George-Musical ‘Taboo’.
In 2017 Carlos finished his second studies at the Fontys Academy of The Arts (Classical Musictheatre), where he sang roles in operettas like ‘La Vie Parisienne’ and ‘Die Lustige Witwe’. He was coached by Harry Ruijl, Edward Hoepelman and Miranda van Kralingen.
During his career afterwards, Carlos worked with a variety of different theatre companies. For example, Carlos was for a long time backing vocal and solist with the Dutch Event Choir where he sang at Dutch (music related) television shows, such as the Musical Awards Gala and the Musical Sing Along Festival. Besides that, Carlos sang in different concerts with repertoire like the Carmina Burana (Carl Orff), Petite Messe Solenelle (Rossini) and the opera ‘Ca Ira’ by Roger Waters.
In the past, Carlos followed a number of Masterclasses with renowned coaches at home and abroad, under which were names like Ed Spanjaard, Pia Downs, Patricia Nessy (Germany) and Carmelo Corrado Caruso (Italy).
Carlos made his Musical-debut in 2018 as Harpo in the musical The Color Purple. He would have also been seen in 2020/2021 as Paul in the Sondheim-musical ‘Company’. Unfortunately this got canceled. In 2021/2022 Carlos played in the ensemble of the Dutch musical ‘Hij Gelooft in Mij’ about the life and death of Dutch folk-singer André Hazes. At this moment Carlos is playing his first lead role in Germany as Ike Turner in ‘Tina, Das Tina Turner Musical’ in Stuttgart (Apollo Theater).
Besides his work as an onstage musical actor, Carlos also did a number of smaller productions like ‘Winterreise’ from ‘Stichting Kunstklank’ and he sang at different projects with Cappella Amsterdam. On camera he works as actor and host for different schools and businesses. Besides his work as an actor, he is also a freelance drama coach/director and makes contemporary translations of Dutch musical repertoire.
